They really never did look confident with that lead. The look on their faces to me were, 'Lord god please let us just hold on somehow.'

Green has been there for nearly two and a half years, and he is 12-26. It's nice that you can get a guy who has had success in the league, and I do think they have been more competitive over the last few years, but you have to start winning games at some point. We saw that with Mariucci in Detroit. If you're not getting better, you're only getting worse.

They need to keep Denny Green. He has them on the right path. It would be just like the Cards to fire him and start over though. They were on the cusp years ago under Joe Bugel before they fired him in favor of Buddy Ryan....

Agreed, i think that would be huge mistake too. Gotta let Denny build something. Dont axe him now that you've finally got a QB to grow with.

In Arizona you're at least seeing things starting to come togther. Detroit still seems lost to me. Millens got to go first.

Again, if you're not winning games, it doesn't matter. The bottom line is the bottom line, and their bottom line has been bad. I wouldn't let him go in season, like the Lions did to Mooch, but you simply can't afford to keep coming close without winning. Three years is more than enough time in the NFL.

Not for an organisation like Arizona. They were litterally light years behind in the FO department. Hell, they only have their own stadium now.

You cant keep chopping HC's every year or two. You need stability and a consistent long term plan.

Admittedly AZ sure looks alot more tempting for an Offensive HC right now. You could bring in a Charlie Weis for example, but Dennys made some good drafts of late that he deserves to see the benefits of.

Depends on if he's lost the players or not. He's been pretty good with QB's and WR's. And I liked the meltdown myself.

    Funny you should mention Weis...

Some owners already getting their Irish up

    By Adam Schefter
    NFL Analyst

(Oct. 16, 2006) -- A word of caution to some head coaches: NFL owners are getting restless.

At least two owners contacted Notre Dame head coach Charlie Weis in the past week to see if they could entice him to leave South Bend, Ind., for the richer confines of the NFL, Weis confirmed over the weekend.

Weis told each owner thanks, but no thanks. He's very happy at Notre Dame.

"I'm not going anywhere," Weis said.

About this time last year, Weis signed a 10-year contract extension with Notre Dame. But NFL owners were skeptical about whether he would remain at the school. At least two NFL owners were curious enough that, within the past week, while Notre Dame was on its bye, they contacted Weis. They thought the bye week would be the proper time to reach out to him. Plus, their actions were spurred on by the play of their own teams. Their teams clearly were not performing up to expectations.

And even though Weis turned down the owners, a key sign clearly has emerged. Some owners, whoever they are, already are getting impatient with their teams' results.

So, one year after there were a startling 10 head coaching changes, owners are starting to make noises that there will be some more this offseason. It's just that Weis won't be introduced as one of the NFL's new head coaches.

I thought the cards were could have won it if they'd ran the ball to run the clock out. Then I liked the way they were playing agressive instead of sitting on the lead. OMG...I'm turning into Joe Theisman!
