Those are really good books. There is also a another series which is an offshoot that tells the story of Bean, I think that is his name. Good stuff.

yeah that was the one I just read - Enders Shadow. It's set the same time as Ender's Game - it's just told from Bean's perspective.

    Any Recommendations ?

Can anyone out there recommend a good Civil War era history book ?
I'm a history freak, but strangely I have nothing on this era. What's good, what's crap ?

Nope. It had something to do with a rogue computer application that kept doing stuff for him. Well, you said 'next in the series' and I thought you meant it was a new book. Maybe that is it.

I'm not big on sci-fi, but Card's "Ender" series is exceptionally good.

    I just finished 2 books:

One, by Richard Bach. Enjoyed it, but not quite as much as I enjoyed some of his other works. He's a really interesting guy from an intellectual/philosophical point of view--interesting ideas on the nature of reality.

Also just finished re-reading The Fiery Cross, by Diana Gabaldon, & am about halfway through the next book in the series, A Breath of Snow & Ashes. This is the 6th of a projected 7-book series. The bookstores always have them in the Romance section, but that does the series a severe injustice. The books contain romance, & are focused on a particular couple. But they're so much more than that--sci-fi (because time travel is central to the saga), history (Scottish & American, primarily), great drama, tremendous adventure, humor, & REALLY HOT sex throughout. I don't generally browse the romance section of bookstores, so I'm glad I stumbled upon this series. Although most fans of the series are women, I think some men might really enjoy it if they could get past the first couple of chapters in the first book (Outlander) where she sets up the background. I found those first couple of chapters a little slow myself; but it's been non-stop adventure ever since.
