Inconclusive here  , but I was happy for the young Evans. I grew up with the Johnny Evans and his family, his 2 sisters still live in High Point.

You know, Evans did have his moments where he didn't look all that good. Maybe the fact that BC has a pretty good defense contributed to that, they are nationally ranked afterall. Maybe you can also contribute that to the fact that State's O'Line sucks...but in the end Evans made some plays that Marcus Stone never would have even came close to making.

Yeah, you really need another shot between the second and third photo there. That's when you see the ball slide from around his abdomen up to his chest. As you can see in the second pic, he has the ball between his forearms. What happens is that he double clutches and the ball slides up as he's sliding out of bounds, at which point he grabs it with his hands. But like I said, if the Akron guy really was down then I guess this is poetic justice. In any case, as much as I despise State, I can't be unhappy that BC lost. Also, that Tank dude is a certified beast.

It looked like to me the BC guy and Dunlap went for the ball, it was tipped, and Dunlap caught it on the way down. Either way, I woke up my wife and the youngest when the ref put his hands up.

Daniel got better as the game went along. Those throws he was making in the last quarter were great. And yes it wasn't like he was starting vs Richmond or E Tennessee State or Furman. This was No.20 on National TV.

Also Stones reaction shows that while not a very good QB hes a heck of a kid.

It was hilarious reading the game thread over on CrackPride. Even as State was starting that last drive, even after the first play you have fans going "Amato has to go" "I guess Evans isn't the answer", "Maybe we should give Burke a try" blah blah blah

And in a minutes time Evans is now the greatest Q ever. You can't beat comedy like that ( unless you are watching Carolina club team taking on Clemson). But hey it was a great win and the fans should enjoy it. Hell I'm not even a State fan and I was excited to see them make that comeback.

    But....

all those problems, the poor offensive line play, the coach nobody likes. the OC that still runs his backfield less than 20 carries in the game despite an 8 yards per carry average, all those problems still exist.

Great win but I'll lay a life savings on the line that says we'll see plenty more "Amato sucks, Evans sucks, will we ever be any good" talk before the season is over. And if the pack loses to another crappy UNC team again...

i'm afraid his annual beatdown of state won't be enough this year. at least the heels will get first dibs on a good coach since bunting will be fired b4 amato.
