turn on computer and instead of windows, there is a black screen with "operating system not found" there instead? :wtf23:

Besides a new computer, what does this mean exactly? Can I string this POS out for a few more months?

Probably have to replace the harddrive. You can attempt to reinstall windows.

And in that case it would mean your hard drive isn't dead, but only that Windows is screwed.

Make sure you don't have a floppy disk in your floppy (A: ) drive. That will also generate that message on boot up.

Usually you get a message about the NT Loader with the floppy.

do you have a wireless optical mouse? if so, you should first try to defrag your keyboard. If that doesn't work, empty your G: drive and reboot.
